Billiards Runs in the Family
Crazy Shots Billiards is a family-run, dimly lit bar in the small town of Hillsborough, NC. A former motorcycle repair shop, it was transformed into a billiards bar over 20 years ago, and serves as a place of gathering and community in town. More than just a place to get drinks, Crazy Shots values its family-like atmosphere, where everyone knows everyone, and nobody is ever a stranger. Centered around two brightly illuminated billiards tables in the back, “regulars” compete in weekly tournaments, and after a night of laughter, competition and family, there are never any losers.
The people inside Crazy Shots welcomed me with open arms, and through my time spent with these people, I have grown close with many. Each night, incredible stories fly around the bar. Whether Maynar is talking about his brother’s heyday as a high school football quarterback or Tiny is telling me about his time travelling in Russia, each night brings a new opportunity to dive into this tight-knit family.
